Unarmed Security Guard Services

The government authority located in Lafayette, Louisiana is seeking unarmed security guard services to protect its premises from thieves, vandals, and other offenders. The agency requires guards to patrol the grounds and exterior of buildings by foot, lock and unlock the District Headquarters yard gates, and receive and forward emergency calls and bridge opening requests to appropriate personnel. Guards must report to the Headquarters Front Desk at the start of each shift to pick up provided equipment, including a cellular phone, portable radio, and a Master Security ID Card. The scope of work requires guards to arrive on time, dressed in uniform, and ready to work their assigned shifts. At the start of each shift, the guard must transfer the switchboard telephone located in the administrative/headquarter building to the guard station. Outgoing guards must provide detailed shift handovers to incoming guards to prevent delays in critical response times. The agency requires sixteen hours of coverage each weekday, running Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 AM the following day. Weekend coverage requires forty-eight continuous hours of service, starting at 8:00 AM on Saturday until 8:00 AM on Monday. Eligible bidders must be onshore United States organizations. The performance of the security work will take place offsite from the bidder's location at the agency's facility.
