Fully Integrated Multiplex PCR Platform

The agency is seeking a fully integrated multiplex PCR platform permitted for research as a point-of-use platform with functionality in public health laboratories for rapid syndromic testing of infectious diseases. The desired platform must have the capability to run at least four samples simultaneously and utilize a single kit or a variety of kits that can test for 40 or more targets from blood culture within one hour. These targets must include at least 20 bacterial, five yeast, and 10 antibiotic resistance genes. The agency requires platforms with developed kits that have documented use in scientific literature. The requested system must feature kits or mechanisms that automate multiple PCR-related processes to reduce sample processing time for researchers or medical laboratory scientists. The final solution must deliver scientifically defensible molecular-based microbial identifications and determine the presence or absence of several health-relevant antimicrobial resistance genes. Eligible bidders must be onshore United States organizations. The agency requires all performance of the work to occur offsite.
