Nurse Call System

The issuing agency is seeking a vendor to provide a comprehensive nurse call system to improve patient care communication and monitoring. The agency requires a system that features dome lights with transparent domes, stainless steel trim, backboxes, and white, red, blue, and yellow lamps. Cabling must utilize Cat5E or Cat 6 in accordance with manufacturer requirements, and the system must use RJ-45 connectors to eliminate unique wiring on a per-station basis. The requested scope of work covers visible annunciation via corridor and zone lights associated with each call. The system must feature automatic supervision of associated bedside patient stations, emergency stations, staff stations, zone lights, dome lights, and consoles, with console indications for any failed stations. The agency also requires built-in diagnostics, nurse follow capabilities, and the ability to transfer stations between consoles without mechanical switches or additional predetermined wiring. The agency requires the system to interface with cell phones, the facility telephone system, a patient wandering Real-Time Location System, door access controls, and the fire alarm system. The selected vendor must provide all necessary hosting hardware or cloud-hosted software, along with all necessary connectivity between points as an isolated, labeled installation independent of the IT network. The system must maintain a minimum call history of two years for retrieval at any time, and all call points and in-room devices must have their own unique address. Eligibility is restricted to onshore Canadian organizations only. The performance of the work will take place offsite. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget for this project. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will take place on June 23, 2026. Bidders must submit all questions regarding this opportunity no later than July 2, 2026.
