Armed Security Guard Services

The City of Westland, Michigan is seeking armed security guard services to protect City Hall staff, patrons, and property. The agency requires a security presence to monitor the building and grounds both on foot and via the City Hall camera system. The primary objective is to maintain a safe environment by enforcing City Hall policies and effectively managing problematic individuals with an emphasis on de-escalation and minimal physical interaction. The scope of work covers daily operations from Monday through Friday, between 8:45 am and 5:00 pm. Guard duties include assisting with daily closings, ensuring patrons exit the building, securing entrances, and escorting staff safely to their vehicles. Additionally, the selected provider must coordinate with the local police department when necessary and protect the interior of the building and property during election services. The agency is limiting eligibility to onshore organizations based in the United States. All contracted work must be performed onsite at the Westland City Hall. The agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget and will award a contract for a period of one year. Bidders must submit all questions regarding this opportunity no later than June 19, 2026. The agency will evaluate proposals based on the ability to meet these security, de-escalation, and scheduling requirements.
