The government authority located in Toronto, Ontario is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive legal services. The agency needs legal advice on new laws, legislative amendments, and government directives at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels, including recommendations for each submitted practice area. The selected provider will also advise on corporate by-laws, policies, procedures, confidentiality, conflict of interest, privacy, ethics, and intellectual property matters. The scope of work covers negotiating and closing complex, multi-phase agreements of purchase and sale, development agreements, and the conveyancing and financing of brownfield or other properties for commercial, residential, and institutional use. The agency requires assistance with residential real estate matters, including condominium law and registration, as well as the development of purpose-built and affordable rental housing utilizing various private, institutional, and government financing vehicles. Additionally, the provider will draft and negotiate funding agreements with three levels of government, structure inter-governmental and inter-agency agreements, assist with developer proposal calls, and handle landlord and tenant or occupancy matters. Bidders must be located onshore in Canada to be eligible for this opportunity. The agency expects the performance of the work to take place offsite. The contract period will span one year, and the agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget.
