The City of Farmington, New Mexico is seeking professional legal services to assist the city attorney and designated officers with various assigned projects. The agency needs legal counsel to defend the city, its employees, and its agents in cases brought under the New Mexico Tort Claims Act or similar laws. This defense covers general and auto liability cases alleging negligence in the operation and maintenance of motor vehicles, streets, water and wastewater utilities, stormwater drainage, parks, and buildings. The scope of work also requires representation of the city and its officials, officers, and employees in public official liability matters involving alleged violations of state and federal civil rights laws. Additionally, the selected counsel will handle police liability cases, defending the city and its personnel against allegations of negligent or wrongful conduct involving police activities. All contracted work will be performed offsite. Only onshore organizations based in the United States are eligible to bid on this opportunity. The agency has not disclosed a specific budget and is looking for cost proposals from interested bidders. Bidders must submit all questions regarding this opportunity no later than June 26, 2026.
