The Connecticut Office of the Attorney General is seeking legal services to assist with investigations and litigation related to gun violence prevention and firearms industry accountability. The selected legal counsel will represent, advise, and assist the agency with current investigations and cases, while also proposing new opportunities for future legal action. Additionally, the agency requires legal counsel to review proposed legislation regarding the firearms industry and to help strengthen existing laws. The scope of work covers the review, analysis, investigation, and research necessary to carry out these legal services, including specific aspects of depositions. The contracted attorneys will conduct or assist in taking or defending depositions or interviews of witnesses and experts, providing the subsequent legal and factual analyses. The agency also requires the legal counsel to remain available upon reasonable request to consult directly with the Attorney General and the agency staff. Eligible bidders must be organizations based onshore within the United States. The agency permits the performance of all contracted work to occur offsite. Bidders must submit their proposals digitally via email or through the designated online portal, and the agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget. The agency is establishing a contract period that will run for three years. Bidders must submit all questions regarding this opportunity no later than July 3, 2026.
