Belize - Private Sector Engagement Development Strategy and Action Plan Service

The Government of Belize is seeking a vendor to develop a comprehensive and unified private sector engagement strategy and action plan to enhance national capacity for addressing climate change impacts. The project aims to dissolve longstanding barriers to private sector participation in the national climate action agenda. The selected vendor will support the country in enhancing its national adaptation planning capacity, accelerating the implementation of its national adaptation plan, building climate resilience, and advancing its low-emission development pathway. The scope of work requires a situational analysis of the private sector's current role and capacity in climate adaptation and climate finance. The vendor must conduct a comprehensive mapping of the private sector landscape to identify and profile key actors, enterprises, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), umbrella organizations, and financing institutions relevant to climate change adaptation and climate finance mobilization. Additionally, the project covers the validation of this mapping, a cost-benefit analysis, and the development of the unified strategy and action plan. The agency requires the strategy to be implemented in a coordinated, gender-responsive, and socially inclusive manner that secures national stakeholder buy-in and country ownership. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in Belize. The agency allows the performance of the work to be conducted offsite. Bidders must submit their responses digitally via email or online, and the agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget.
