Street Corridor Planning and Demonstration Project Service

The City of San Luis Obispo, California, is seeking a qualified consultant to provide street corridor planning and demonstration project services. The agency needs to address corridor safety and circulation through data collection, community engagement, and engineering analysis. This project aims to identify both short-term and long-term safety improvements, culminating in a corridor plan with preliminary design concepts and a demonstration project. The scope of work requires the selected consultant to lead community outreach activities and conduct a comprehensive corridor safety assessment. The consultant must collect segment counts and peak hour intersection counts to support a traffic signal warrant analysis and circulation analysis. Additionally, the consultant will conduct a traffic signal warrant analysis at a maximum of three locations determined during the project kickoff and prepare a memorandum outlining potential impacts on the adjacent circulation network. The project also requires the preparation of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) alongside environmental documentation for the demonstration project. The agency expects the consultant to utilize traffic counts, collision history, public input, and professional expertise to develop the final corridor plan. These services encompass various transportation planning and engineering tasks specifically related to the Street Corridor Project. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The selected consultant will perform the work through a combination of onsite and offsite activities.
