Group Recovery Program Service

The British Columbia government authority is seeking proposals to establish a group recovery program for citizens seeking support with harm from gambling products. The agency is trying to solve the problem of limited access to structured, culturally safe, and confidential gambling group supports to improve the overall mental health and well-being of affected individuals. The selected contractor will administer, design, and deliver a virtual, brief, and structured group recovery program consisting of sessions that do not require ongoing one-on-one counselling relationships. The scope of work covers the development and delivery of structured group modules using evidence-based counselling techniques of cognitive behavioural therapy and solutions-focused therapy. These modules must focus on the themes of understanding gambling, gambling-related coping skills, the relationships between money and gambling, and relapse prevention and future planning. The service must provide monthly access to this virtual program, ensuring it is easily identifiable, branded for easy recognition, and delivered by trained staff with professional oversight. Eligible proponents must perform the work offsite and must be located onshore within Canada. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget for this initiative. The contract period for the group recovery program service will be for one year.
