The City of Watertown, New York, is seeking a qualified attorney or law firm to provide comprehensive legal services. The agency needs to address and resolve municipal code and ordinance violations referred by the Watertown Police Department, as well as manage various legal proceedings. This initiative aims to streamline the processing of law enforcement referrals and ensure timely, legally sound resolutions of municipal infractions. The scope of work requires the selected provider to review law enforcement referrals and supporting documentation, and to prepare and file petitions, accusatory instruments, appearance tickets, pleadings, motions, and related legal documents. The provider must negotiate resolutions and dispositions when appropriate, coordinate effectively with city staff and representatives, and remain available to respond to time-sensitive matters. All work will be performed offsite, though the provider must deliver additional legal services as necessary to accomplish these objectives. Eligible bidders must be United States organizations, with a preference for attorneys or law firms located within Jefferson County. Bidders must maintain professional liability insurance to qualify for contract award.
