Duty and Peace Officer Psychological Fitness Evaluations Services

The City of Redding, California is seeking a qualified vendor to provide duty and peace officer psychological fitness evaluations. The agency requires these services to assess whether prospective employees and current officers can safely and effectively perform the essential functions of their positions. The selected psychologist or psychiatrist must act within their legal scope of practice to conduct these evaluations on an as-needed basis, which may also include critical incident debriefing services. The scope of work requires the provider to perform psychological testing using the most current versions of professionally accepted assessment instruments. These test versions and types must align with accepted, current professional standards and protocols. Following the evaluations, the provider must prepare detailed written reports documenting findings, conclusions, recommendations, and any work-related restrictions as appropriate.
