Large Machine Mowing and Trimming Services

The Escambia County Department of Solid Waste Management in Pensacola, Florida is seeking a contractor to provide large machine mowing and trimming services for natural and planted vegetation. The agency needs to maintain landfill areas, slopes, roadside areas, pond berms, and terrace swales. This work addresses the need to control vegetation on both flat and sloped terrain, including steep slopes exceeding a three-to-one gradient, while protecting critical site infrastructure. The scope of work requires large machine mowing and precise trimming around site appurtenances such as landfill gas wells, groundwater monitoring wells, boundary probes, vent pipes, and surface monitoring points. The contractor must maintain a minimum four-foot trimmed radius around all groundwater wells or well clusters and mow vehicle access paths to these wells during every service cycle. Additionally, the selected provider must remove and properly dispose of any debris that could interfere with mowing operations. Eligible bidders must perform all work onshore within the United States, and the physical performance of the services will occur offsite at the designated Pensacola locations. The agency is establishing a contract period of one year to complete these recurring maintenance services. Bidders must submit all questions regarding this opportunity no later than July 7, 2026, and the agency is currently requesting proposals to determine the budget and pricing structure.
