Public Facilities Assessment Service

The City of Dayton, Minnesota is seeking a qualified firm to conduct a comprehensive public facilities assessment service. The agency needs to evaluate its existing municipal buildings to understand their current conditions and plan for future spatial requirements. This project aims to solve the problem of long-term facility planning by providing a clear roadmap for space utilization over the next two decades. The selected firm must inspect each public facility and prepare a detailed summary documenting total square footage, general floor plans, construction type, estimated age, structural condition, parking facilities, and other factors impacting future use. The scope of work requires a five-year projection of space needs for each facility, detailed in terms of operational efficiencies, physical spaces, and projected costs, incorporating input from key staff and department stakeholders. Additionally, the agency requires a twenty-year facility expansion projection that considers community growth projections from the Comprehensive Plan, facility functions, past improvements, and service calls, including the specific formula used to determine these long-term needs. The project also demands an outline of potential opportunities to address these space needs, such as remodeling, relocating operations, reconstructing on-site, constructing new facilities, or co-locating services. Eligible bidders must be located onshore within the United States, and the agency will permit the performance of the work to occur offsite. The contract period will span one year, and the agency is currently seeking proposals to determine the budget for this initiative.
