GLOBAL - Regenerative Tourism Program Service

The government authority located in Hilo, Hawaii is seeking a vendor to provide a regenerative tourism program service. The agency is trying to foster a sustainable tourism model that benefits both the local community and visitors, while preserving natural and cultural resources. This initiative aims to maximize the economic impact of cruise ship visitors to benefit businesses island-wide, while ensuring visitors receive a memorable, culturally rich experience. The scope of work requires the selected vendor to enhance visitor services by expanding cultural offerings with music and hula performances. The vendor must manage a visitor booth to distribute information and educate visitors about the pono pledge. Additionally, the project covers implementing strategies to assess and manage carrying capacity, including creating and managing a carrying capacity pilot at popular visitor hotspots to preserve their ecological and cultural significance. The agency also requires the vendor to provide support and assistance to individuals who are away from home and facing adversity, such as crime, medical emergencies, and death. To achieve this, the vendor must maintain dedicated staff and volunteers who are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to offer emotional support and practical help. The contract period for these services will be for one year, and the performance of the work will be offsite. Eligibility is restricted to onshore USA organizations only.
