The Denver, Colorado government authority is seeking automotive locksmithing services to facilitate access to impounded vehicles and retrieve mileage data prior to sale. The agency needs to solve the problem of accessing locked vehicles, trunks, hoods, and personal property found inside these vehicles. The selected contractor must perform all work onsite, providing the necessary labor, tools, equipment, and supplies for multiple vehicles per visit. The scope of work covers conducting a full search of all impounded vehicles and facilitating access using locksmithing tools such as picks, long reach tools, air wedges, and slim jims. The agency requires the contractor to cut standard metal keys, drill out key cylinders, jump-start or energize batteries, and unlock personal property inside the vehicles as directed. Additionally, the contractor must produce and program key fobs, transponders, and remotes using diagnostic tools, aftermarket fobs, or other industry methods. For mileage retrieval, the contractor must document odometer readings for all vehicles model year 2011 or newer prior to sale. The agency requires the contractor to assist in obtaining these readings using key creation, battery energization, or diagnostic tools, and to document when they are unable to retrieve the mileage. The contract period will span one year, and the agency is looking for proposals to establish the budget. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States.
