Grounds Maintenance Service for Parks

The City of Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a contractor to provide grounds maintenance services for large areas of park land. The agency needs to solve the challenge of maintaining extensive turf areas by utilizing a contractor-provided tractor and a pull-behind finish mower deck with a minimum width of twelve feet. This work will occur on an hourly basis and requires close coordination with city crews to establish a workflow where agency staff perform the initial cut-in work alongside or just prior to the contractor. The scope of work requires mowing the designated park areas on a schedule of approximately every ten days, specifically when the grass height exceeds five inches. The contractor must mow the grass to a uniform height of three to three and one-half inches, matching the cut-in crew, and must cut as close to all permanent structures as reasonably possible. The contractor must repair any damage to sod, trees, or plantings to the satisfaction of the contract manager, immediately report any damage to agency-owned property, and replace or pay for any damaged property. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based in the United States. The selected contractor must perform all work onsite at the designated parks in Omaha, Nebraska. The contract period will span one year, and the agency is currently looking for proposals to establish the budget and pricing for these hourly services.
