The agency is seeking research project services to be performed offsite. The project aims to increase water supplies by reducing barriers to treating impaired water for beneficial uses. This includes improving existing desalination and water treatment technologies, developing cost-effective concentrate management approaches, and creating technologies for selective contaminant removal. The project also seeks to develop improved water reuse technologies and evaluate the use of artificial intelligence in water treatment. Eligibility for this opportunity is restricted to onshore organizations within the USA. Bidders must register in SAM.gov to obtain a Unique Entity ID (UEI) and also register in Grants.gov. Failure to complete these registrations in a timely manner, ideally six weeks or more before the application deadline, can lead to ineligibility. Responses can be submitted digitally via email or online. The agency is looking for proposals and has provided a budget detail and narrative template for cost estimation. All costs must be directly related to project activities and comply with federal cost principles, being allowable, allocable, and reasonable. The budget should include all project costs, whether federal or non-federal contributions, and may require a minimum federal to non-federal cost share.
