The government authority in Lexington, NC requires a USA-based organization to provide comprehensive legal services offsite for a two-year contract period. The selected vendor must deliver legal counsel and advice to the Board and Administration, attend all Board meetings including Closed Sessions, assist with closed session minutes, and provide guidance on Open Meetings Law and Public Records Law. Additional duties include consulting with the Board, Chairperson, and Superintendent, representing and negotiating on behalf of the Board, reviewing potential decisions and contractual agreements, handling time-sensitive matters on short notice, and advising on student discipline, suspensions, appeal hearings, and custody orders related to student enrollment.
