Structured Cabling Services

The government authority in Houston, Texas requires a USA-based vendor to provide offsite structured cabling services. The selected contractor must perform day-to-day installations of new Cat 6/6a data lines, troubleshoot out-of-warranty lines, demolish old cable plants, test new and existing cables, troubleshoot and terminate fiber, and install wireless access points throughout the University. The scope includes dressing new cables neatly alongside existing ones using Velcro ties, providing separate J-hook pathways for data and fiber optic cabling, and installing cabling on approved raceways at the Pearland and Medical Center facilities. The vendor must secure cable supports independently at intervals not exceeding 48 inches and comply with all current University cabling standards. The buyer requests proposals to determine the budget. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for September 8, 2026.
