Urban Forestry Strategy Service

The buyer requires an urban forestry strategy service to establish a long-term framework for preserving, enhancing, and expanding the urban tree canopy while supporting climate resilience, biodiversity, asset management, and sustainable growth. The requested scope includes reviewing existing data, conducting a comparative scan of peer municipalities, acquiring and analyzing aerial imagery or LiDAR data, developing a comprehensive tree inventory, performing GIS mapping, conducting natural asset valuation, and executing public, stakeholder, and Indigenous engagement. The contractor will deliver a final Urban Forestry Strategy, GIS-compatible mapping products, an implementation roadmap, recommendations for a Tree Saving Plan and supporting by-law, and a Council presentation. Only Canadian organizations are eligible for this one-year contract, and performance of the work will occur onsite or offsite. The buyer is looking for proposals to determine the budget.
