Public Defenders Service

The Township of Cherry Hill is soliciting proposals for attorneys to serve as Public Defender and Substitute/Conflict Public Defender(s) for the 2027 calendar year. Selected vendors will represent defendants before the municipal court as assigned by the court and judge. Required duties include conducting discovery, pretrial and post-trial hearings, motions, dismissals, plea bargaining, subpoena review, witness preparation, client meetings, and expert witness acquisition or preparation. Attorneys and US organizations are eligible to apply. Applicants must submit one original signed proposal, one copy, and an electronic copy on a flash drive to Patti Chacker, Township Clerk, by 11:00 A.M. on November 6, 2026. Submissions must include mandatory forms, including a Non-Collusion Affidavit, Ownership Disclosure Statement, EEO compliance forms, political contribution disclosures, and relevant certifications or licenses. All questions must be submitted no later than October 16, 2026. Contract awards will be based on established qualification criteria, statutory compliance, and mandatory minimum requirements.
