Auditing Services

The County of Essex, Department of Accounts and Control, in Newark, NJ, seeks qualification statements from firms to provide various auditing services. The required scope includes auditing the county's financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2026, performing work offsite in accordance with circular guidelines, and testing accounting records. Selected firms will join a qualified list to potentially enter into contracts to deliver services throughout calendar year 2027. Eligibility is limited to onshore USA organizations that possess demonstrable experience auditing public bodies and knowledge of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs regulations. All respondents must submit a New Jersey Business Registration Certificate, though non-profit organizations are exempt from this requirement provided they submit proof of non-profit status. Applicants must submit hard-copy responses in sealed envelopes to the Office of Purchasing in Newark, NJ, by October 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Written questions must be faxed or emailed to the contact person at least eight business days prior to the submission deadline. Proposals will be evaluated based on the firm's general experience alongside the qualifications and experience of key personnel assigned to the account.
