Building Strong-Motion Data Interpretation Service

The United States Geological Survey is seeking proposals to utilize strong-motion data recorded from selected instrumented buildings to advance the understanding of seismic responses in building structures. The agency requires the proposed study to address at least one of three specific objectives, which include validating or improving seismic analysis procedures, improving seismic provisions in the building code and seismic design practices, or increasing the utilization of strong-motion data in post-earthquake response. The agency limits eligibility to onshore organizations based in the United States. The scope of work allows for offsite performance, and the agency accepts digital submissions via email or online. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget and requires all questions regarding this opportunity to be submitted no later than June 1, 2026.
