The City of Galveston, Texas, is seeking emergency food and lodging services to support essential municipal employees and equipment during disaster events. The agency requires a facility to serve as a refuge during hurricanes, severe weather, hazardous material incidents, or other emergencies. This infrastructure will ensure the continuity of municipal operations when local conditions deteriorate. The scope of work requires a facility located within the Galveston city limits to provide up to 350 sleeping rooms at the prevailing federal per diem rate, with each room accommodating one to two people. The facility must also provide one backup emergency operations center for 10 people equipped with phones, internet, tables, and chairs, alongside two meeting rooms that can hold 100 people each. Additionally, the provider must supply meals and elevated, indoor parking spaces for 75 vehicles, with many vehicles requiring a minimum height clearance of 14 feet. Eligible bidders must be United States organizations, and the performance of the contract will take place offsite at the provider's facility. The agency is currently looking for proposals to establish pricing, and the resulting contract will span a period of three years.
