Theater Programming Services

The City of Coronado, California is seeking a vendor to provide theater programming and related operational services at the city-owned playhouse. The agency needs to establish a consistent schedule of community-focused performing arts and educational activities at this shared-use municipal facility. This initiative aims to solve the challenge of maintaining active, high-quality local cultural programming while coordinating the facility's schedule under a city-administered system. The scope of work requires a minimum of four community theater productions and a minimum of three youth theater performances annually. The selected provider must also deliver ongoing youth programming, which may include classes, camps, and workshops. Additional responsibilities cover managing shared use and scheduling, handling revenue sharing from gross proceeds, managing sponsorship revenue and performance-related donations, overseeing alcohol and concessions, making improvements and alterations, maintaining professional conduct, reporting, and executing marketing, ticketing, and data management. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency requires the performance of the work to be conducted offsite. The city has not disclosed a specific budget and is looking for proposals to define the financial terms, which will include a revenue-sharing structure based on gross proceeds before the deduction of operating expenses.
