Transit Attorney Services

The Livingston County transit authority in Howell, Michigan is seeking a qualified legal firm to provide comprehensive transit attorney services. The agency requires legal consultation and advice covering any subject of a corporate legal nature to support its daily operations. This partnership will span a contract period of five years, with all work performed offsite. The scope of work covers the review and preparation of project authorizations, contracts, leases, deeds, and grant applications, along with all associated correspondence. The selected attorney will conduct legal research, prepare legal memoranda, write letters, and perform investigative and factual research, including taking statements from relevant parties. Additionally, the agency requires representation in conferences and negotiations, as well as telephone conversations and other efforts to settle cases or problems short of litigation. The attorney must review and approve the form of Federal and State Grant applications annually, providing all necessary attestations and opinions. Eligibility is strictly limited to onshore organizations based in the United States. Bidders must submit their proposals digitally via email or online, and the agency is currently looking for proposals to establish the budget.
