Township Attorney Services

The Township of New Jersey is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive township attorney services to support its municipal operations and legal affairs. The agency needs a legal professional to attend all council meetings, render legal advice on municipal affairs to the council and township manager, and perform duties as provided by charter or ordinance. The selected attorney will also prepare and approve ordinances and substantive resolutions prior to introduction, and review all contracts, deeds, and instruments before execution. The scope of work requires the attorney to conduct appeals affecting township interests and, with council approval, enter into agreements, compromises, or settlements of litigation. The attorney must maintain detailed records of all actions, suits, and proceedings, reporting on these matters as required by the council or township manager. Additionally, the attorney will retain special counsel when necessary, subject to council consent. Bidders must perform all work onsite and must be located onshore within the United States.
