Fire and Ems Fire Marshal Professional Consultant Services

The City of Cathedral, California is seeking a professional consultant to provide fire and emergency medical services (EMS) fire marshal professional consultant services. The agency requires a consultant to solve the problem of managing development plan reviews, construction plan reviews, and fire protection system oversight. The selected consultant will ensure compliance for fire alarms, fire sprinklers, fire access, water supply, carbon dioxide plans, and any other submitted plan types. The scope of work covers the inspection of buildings and structures with issued fire permits to verify compliance with approved plans, codes, and ordinances. The consultant must oversee fire protection systems, testing, and maintenance compliance, while also providing problem-solving methods for unique or challenging plan check or code interpretation issues. Additional duties include attending bi-weekly Development Services Committee meetings and coordinating with the Planning, Building, Engineering, and Public Works departments on development projects. The consultant must manage hazardous materials oversight and coordinate with regulatory agencies if applicable, as well as provide emergency response support as required. The agency requires the consultant to utilize and operate Energov permitting software and the IG Inspect app to document and provide inspection results, comments, and corrections.
