In-Person American Sign Language Interpreting Services

The issuing agency is seeking a vendor to provide in-person American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services on an as-needed basis. The agency requires these services to support employees who are attending a variety of community events, conferences, meetings, and trainings. Interpreters must possess proficiency in interpreting spoken English to ASL and ASL to spoken English. The scope of work dictates specific operational rules for the interpreting staff during assignments. Interpreters must take an unpaid lunch break of at least thirty minutes after five hours of work. When the agency utilizes multiple interpreters for an assignment, those interpreters must rotate their unpaid lunch breaks in shifts. The agency limits eligibility to onshore organizations based in the United States. Although the services involve in-person interpreting for agency events, the agency specifies that the performance of the work is offsite and the vendor must carry out work in their office location.
