Microfiche Digitization System

The agency is seeking a contractor to provide a production-grade microfiche digitization system. The required system must feature high-speed scanning of up to approximately 200 images per minute and an optical resolution range of 100 to 600 dpi. The hardware must include a dual-camera scanning system with intelligent pre-scan functionality, automated and manual loading capabilities, and an input hopper capacity of approximately 75 microfiches at a time. The system must support multiple microfiche formats, including simplex, duplex, COM, and aperture cards. The agency requires image enhancement features such as cropping, de-skewing, rotation, inversion, mirroring, and automatic gain control for real-time quality optimization. The equipment must deliver dual output capability to produce grayscale and bitonal images simultaneously. The software suite must include FastFiche scanning software or an equivalent for scan capture and workflow control, alongside Quantum Process or equivalent image processing software. The agency also requires optical character recognition software capable of full-text recognition, title bar recognition, and automated indexing. Bidders must perform all work offsite and must be located onshore within the United States.
