General Legal Counsel Services

The Housing Authority of the City of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, requires a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive general legal counsel services. The agency needs legal representation to support its daily operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and protect its legal interests. The selected legal counsel will advise commissioners and staff on ordinary business matters and handle routine legal questions arising under agency contracts. The scope of work covers attending all meetings of the board of commissioners, as well as attending meetings with staff or board members at the request of the commissioners or executive directors. The designated counsel must supervise the legality of the official minutes of the authority and review and approve the legality of all contracts and payments. Additionally, the scope includes supervising the defense of the authority against all claims for personal injury and property damage. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based in the United States of America. The agency requires the performance of all legal work to be conducted offsite. The contract period will span a duration of one year, and the agency is currently seeking proposals to determine the budget and cost structure for these services.
