Transit Attorney Services

The Livingston County transit authority in Howell, Michigan is seeking a qualified legal firm to provide comprehensive transit attorney services. The agency requires legal consultation and advice covering all subjects of a corporate legal nature to support its daily operations. This contract will span a five-year period to ensure continuous legal representation and guidance. The scope of work covers the review and preparation of project authorizations, contracts, leases, deeds, and grant applications, along with all associated correspondence. The selected attorney must perform legal research, prepare legal memoranda, write letters, and conduct investigative and factual research, including taking statements from relevant parties. Additionally, the agency requires representation in conferences, negotiations, and telephone conversations aimed at settling cases or resolving problems short of litigation. The attorney must review and approve the form of Federal and State Grant applications annually, providing all necessary attestations and opinions. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency allows the selected provider to perform all work offsite and accepts digital proposal submissions via email or online.
