School Redevelopment Service

The Brunswick, Maine government authority is seeking a developer to purchase and redevelop the Town's historic School property. The agency wants to transform this property, which is situated within the Federal Street Historic District near residences, businesses, cultural amenities, public transit, public parks, and Bowdoin College, into a residential or mixed-use development. Through this project, the agency aims to solve the problem of an underutilized historic asset by creating a well-connected property that contributes to the vibrancy of the Town's historic village center. The scope of work requires the selected developer to acquire the historic School property and execute a redevelopment plan that aligns with the surrounding historic district and downtown area. Eligible bidders must be onshore USA organizations. The agency expects the performance of the redevelopment planning and related services to occur offsite. The agency is looking for budget proposals from interested bidders rather than specifying a set funding limit. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for June 4, 2026, to provide additional project context. Bidders must submit all questions regarding the opportunity no later than June 18, 2026.
