Elevator Inspection Services

The Douglas County government authority in Castle Rock, Colorado is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive elevator inspection services. The agency requires these services to ensure the safety and compliance of all conveyances within its jurisdiction, including elevators, escalators, and moving walks. The selected provider will resolve the agency's need for ongoing safety monitoring and regulatory compliance in commercial, institutional, and residential buildings. The scope of work covers as-needed plan reviews and inspections for new conveyances, alongside routine inspections of existing, in-service equipment. Specific requirements include conducting general safety inspections of existing commercial elevators and lifts twice per year, as well as internal and external safety inspections of existing commercial escalators once per year. All inspections must comply strictly with the Colorado Elevator and Escalator Certification Act, Title 9, Article 5.5. The inspector must immediately notify the owner, the contractor if applicable, and the County of any equipment deficiencies found during inspections and subsequent re-inspections until all issues are corrected. In the event of life safety hazards, the inspector must terminate elevator or escalator operations immediately and perform re-inspections until the conveyance can safely return to service. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget and financial terms for this contract.
