Phase 2 Produce Prescription Pilot Program Service

The Indian Health Service is seeking applications for the Phase 2 Produce Prescription Pilot Program. The agency is trying to solve the problem of food insecurity and chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, by increasing access to nutritious and community-relevant foods. This initiative aims to promote whole-person health and well-being through targeted nutrition interventions. The project covers the implementation of sustainable produce prescription models. Recipients must develop partnerships with health care providers, community organizations, and food suppliers to deliver these services. The scope of work prioritizes populations experiencing food insecurity and chronic conditions influenced by food access, while also supporting broader physical, social, and whole-person well-being. Eligible applicants are limited to Tribes, Tribal organizations, and Urban Indian organizations located in the United States. All performance of the work will occur offsite from the government authority, which is located in Washington, DC. The agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget for this pilot program.
