Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act Director Services

The Vermont Department of Health in Montpelier, Vermont is seeking Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) director services to oversee its laboratory operations. The agency requires a qualified director to ensure that all testing systems provide high-quality services across the preanalytical, analytical, and postanalytical phases of testing. The selected director will also ensure that the physical plant and environmental conditions are safe and protect employees from physical, chemical, and biological hazards. The director may perform the duties of the technical supervisor, clinical consultant, general supervisor, and testing personnel, or delegate these responsibilities to other qualified personnel. If the director delegates these responsibilities, they still remain responsible for ensuring that all duties are properly performed. The agency requires the director to be accessible to the laboratory to provide onsite, telephone, or electronic consultation as needed. Eligible bidders must be United States organizations, as the agency restricts participation to onshore entities. The work must be performed onsite at the laboratory facility in Montpelier, Vermont. Additionally, the agency limits each individual to directing no more than five laboratories. The agency is establishing a contract period of five years for these services.
