School District Physician Services

The East Orange School District in New Jersey is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive school district physician services. The district requires professional consultation to assist in developing and implementing school policies, procedures, and mechanisms related to health, safety, and medical emergencies. Additionally, the selected physician will consult with school medical staff regarding the delivery of health services, specifically addressing the needs of technology-supported and medically fragile students. The scope of work includes conducting physical examinations in the physician's office or a comparably equipped facility for students who lack a medical home or whose parents designate the school as their medical home for sports physicals. The physician must provide written notification to parents approving or disapproving student participation in athletics based on these medical reports. The provider will also assist school nurses with health screenings for students and staff, and review, approve, or deny home instruction recommendations from students' personal physicians. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based in the United States. The district expects the performance of these medical and consultative services to take place offsite. The agency has not disclosed a specific budget and is currently looking for proposals to determine the cost of the contract.
