Laboratory Director Services

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services is seeking a qualified vendor to provide laboratory director services for state-operated behavioral health facilities in Olympia, Washington. The selected vendor will assume full responsibility for the overall operation and administration of the laboratory, which includes ensuring the employment of a sufficient number of competent laboratory personnel to perform test procedures. The agency requires the director to maintain constant accessibility to the laboratory to provide onsite, electronic, or telephone communication for interpreting and correlating laboratory data submitted via phone, fax, courier, or mail. The scope of work requires the director to ensure that ongoing education programs, planning, and development meet the specific needs of the laboratory and the hospital. The director must actively participate in the selection of a reference laboratory and review all proficiency testing, calibration verification, and reference range verification results. Additionally, the agency requires the director to review all laboratory policies and procedures upon taking office and biennially thereafter, remain responsible for any delegated duties, and develop and deliver written and in-person reports to hospital executives and governing bodies. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based in the United States. Although the laboratory director services support the facilities in Olympia, the agency specifies that the performance of the work will be conducted offsite. Bidders must submit their proposals digitally via email or through the designated online portal, and the agency is looking for bidders to propose their own budget.
