Investigative Services

The Workers' Compensation Board of Nova Scotia requires a vendor to provide professional investigation and physical surveillance services to its special investigation unit on an as-needed basis. This requirement arises when the board's in-house investigative resources are fully utilized or unavailable. The selected contractor must supply qualified investigators, vehicles, and all necessary equipment to perform the requested surveillance duties. The scope of work includes conducting physical surveillance, capturing video footage, and compiling detailed investigative reports. Contractors must deliver technical services to permanently blur the faces of third parties in any surveillance video to ensure they are unidentifiable upon the board's request. All captured video footage becomes the exclusive property of the board, and the accompanying written reports must document all observed activities and pertinent information regardless of whether the activity was captured on video. Eligibility is strictly limited to onshore Canadian organizations. The performance of the requested investigative and surveillance work will take place offsite. The board is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget and pricing structure for these as-needed services. Interested bidders must submit their Letter of Intent no later than June 5, 2026.
