Fire and Ems Fire Marshal Professional Consultant Services

The City of Cathedral, California is seeking a professional consultant to provide fire and emergency medical services (EMS) fire marshal professional consultant services. The agency requires assistance with the review and approval of development plans, construction plans, and fire protection systems, including fire alarms, fire sprinklers, fire access, water supply, and carbon dioxide plans. This role supports the agency in managing its clean, well-maintained, and well-managed facilities by ensuring all submitted plan types comply with safety standards. The scope of work covers the oversight of fire protection systems, testing, and maintenance compliance, as well as the inspection of buildings and structures with issued fire permits to ensure compliance with approved plans and applicable codes. The selected consultant must attend bi-weekly Development Services Committee meetings and coordinate development projects with the Planning, Building, Engineering, and Public Works departments. Additionally, the agency requires hazardous materials oversight, coordination with regulatory agencies if applicable, emergency response support, and the provision of problem-solving methods for unique or challenging plan check or code interpretation issues. Bidders must possess the ability to utilize and operate Energov permitting software and the IG Inspect app to document and provide inspection results, comments, and corrections. Eligible bidders must be located onshore within the United States, and the performance of the work will take place offsite. The agency is looking for budget proposals for a contract period that will run for one year.
