Staff Training and Family Engagement Services

The Housing Authority of New Orleans is seeking a vendor to provide staff training and family engagement services in New Orleans, Louisiana. The agency needs to support immigrant families by facilitating workshops and providing direct services that build technology literacy and share information about available resources. Additionally, the agency aims to train school and contracted staff on the English Learner and immigrant experience to improve support for first-generation students facing unique stressors. The scope of work for family engagement requires the selected vendor to train families on technology competencies, including opening and maintaining email addresses, completing applications, submitting documents, and searching for resources. The vendor must also provide these families with information regarding eligibility for healthcare, nutrition, housing rights, legal counsel, early childhood access, and labor rights. For the staff training component, the vendor must cultivate working knowledge of the local immigration context and address stressors such as migration, reunification, assimilation, xenophobia, and interrupted education. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based solely in the United States. The agency requires all performance of the contracted work to take place onsite in New Orleans. The agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget and has not disclosed a specific funding limit.
