Advisory Services for Conservation Easements

The Town of Bedford, Virginia is seeking advisory services to assist with the potential conveyance of fee simple or partial interests, including conservation easements, on properties owned by the Town. The agency needs to evaluate, plan, and facilitate these conveyances to ensure they align with municipal goals, legal requirements, and long-term interests. The selected provider will help the Town navigate the complexities of land preservation and donation planning. The scope of work covers consulting and professional services, including meeting with Town representatives by telephone or in person to discuss property and donation plans. The provider must assist in identifying experienced attorneys, appraisers, tax advisors, and other specialists as needed. Additionally, the agency requires guidance regarding the cost and timing of preliminary valuations, recommendations for appropriate government agencies or private nonprofit land trusts to approach, and assistance with various mapping tasks related to the donation. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations located within the United States. The agency requires the performance of all work to occur offsite.
