The City of Suffolk, Virginia, requires professional legal services to support the Office of the City Attorney. The agency is seeking a qualified legal partner to review and provide advice on multiple areas of law, prepare legal opinions, and offer legal perspectives on various municipal issues. Additionally, the selected partner must prepare, review, comment on, and modify City contracts, ordinances, easements, deeds, leases, and other official legal documents. The scope of work also requires attendance at City Council meetings, work sessions, and other municipal meetings to address questions from council members, citizens, and employees. The designated legal representatives must coordinate directly with the City Attorney and other staff to manage legal issues properly and represent the City in legal matters, including making necessary court appearances. While the legal representation and meeting attendance require local coordination, the agency permits the general performance of the work to occur offsite. The agency limits eligibility to onshore organizations based in the United States. The resulting contract will span a performance period of three years. The agency has not disclosed a specific budget and is seeking pricing proposals from interested parties to evaluate the cost of these services.
