RFI for Artemis IV Alternate Communication System

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration in Houston, Texas is seeking information to identify mature services and user terminals that can augment the primary communication system for the Artemis IV mission. The agency is attempting to solve the challenge of maintaining continuous, high-bandwidth transmission of mission data within the dynamic lunar environment to support crewed space exploration. The requested scope of work requires the submission of end-to-end system concepts capable of providing a high-rate system that can stream live 4k imagery. Only organizations based in the United States are eligible to participate in this market research effort. The agency expects the performance of the work to occur offsite. The agency is currently looking for proposals to understand budget requirements and has not disclosed a specific funding limit. Interested parties must submit all questions regarding this request for information no later than June 25, 2026. The agency will evaluate the submissions based on the maturity of the proposed services and the viability of the end-to-end system concepts for the Artemis program.
