Public Finance Counsel Services

The City University of New York is seeking public finance counsel services to analyze the disposition of various university real estate properties. The agency needs legal opinions and guidance on structuring these real estate dispositions, specifically regarding the defeasance of tax-exempt financing and the use of sale proceeds from properties with tax-exempt financing. The selected counsel will represent the university in real property transactions, including leasing and dispositions, and will prepare and negotiate all related agreements such as purchase and sale agreements. The scope of work also requires the legal counsel to advise the university on related land use and environmental matters, including the subdivision of tax lots and parcels. Bidders must perform all work offsite at their own office locations. The agency restricts eligibility to onshore organizations based in the United States.
