The California government authority is seeking a qualified legal professional or firm to provide ongoing legal services, advice, and representation. The agency needs to navigate legal systems, understand its rights and obligations, and resolve various legal matters. The selected provider will represent and advise the Board and staff, recommend legally compliant policies, and assist with Public Records Act requests. The scope of work covers preparing, reviewing, and revising staff documents such as contracts, ordinances, resolutions, land use decisions, and staff reports. The agency also requires legal research and counseling for property transactions, leases, deeds, utility franchise agreements, liability situations, pension law, and personnel matters. Additionally, the requested services include representation in civil matters, appearances at administrative hearings or arbitrations, and advice during appellate proceedings. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency expects the performance of all work to occur offsite.
