Steel Fabrication Quality Assurance Inspection Services

The Nebraska-based government authority is seeking professional services for steel fabrication quality assurance inspection services. The agency needs to ensure the quality of inspection procedures for the fabrication of steel girders at the plants of bridge girder suppliers. This initiative solves the problem of verifying that bridge girder fabrication conforms strictly to project requirements and safety standards. The scope of work covers the review of applicable welding procedures, welder certifications, and submitted material test records. The selected inspector must review fabrication operations for conformance to project requirements and monitor welding operations for proper welding procedure parameters. During welding, the inspector must provide periodic reviews to ensure parameters are being maintained, and visually review completed weldments for compliance to specific quality requirements after welding and prior to materials submittal for non-destructive evaluation. The inspector must also review all required remedial action, record repair procedures, and inspect and verify the given camber allowance in the final laydown of girders. Eligible bidders must be onshore United States organizations. The agency requires the performance of the work to be offsite at the plants of the bridge girder suppliers.
