Physician and Medical Director Services

The State Veterans Home in Kosciusko, Mississippi, requires a qualified vendor to deliver comprehensive physician and medical director services. The agency needs to ensure that all newly admitted residents receive timely, complete medical assessments, physical examinations, and appropriate care plans upon admission. These assessments must establish the level of care, identify any detected mental illness, and designate activity and recreational levels for each resident. The scope of work requires the medical director to provide physician orders for immediate care, along with a medical history and physical examination within a timeframe appropriate to the resident's condition. The selected provider must deliver services twenty-four hours a day, three hundred sixty-five days per year, with daily onsite visits by a physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant Monday through Friday starting no earlier than 7:00 a.m. On-call services must remain available at all times to handle resident needs outside of regular hours. The agency requires medical reviews of residents at least once every thirty days for the first ninety days following initial admission or re-admission, and every sixty days thereafter. The provider must perform annual physicals for each resident, conduct more frequent medical evaluations when indicated by medical records or requested by the home, and deliver ongoing primary physician services. Additionally, the physician must review each resident's comprehensive care plan, including medications and treatments, and write, sign, and date progress notes for every visit. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. All contracted work must be performed onsite at the facility in Kosciusko, Mississippi.
