Health Officer Services

The Fargo, North Dakota local government authority is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive health officer services. The selected provider will enforce all laws and rules relating to the preservation of individual life and health while keeping official records of all health officer acts. Under the supervision of the board of health, the officer may exercise the powers and duties of the board and take any action necessary to protect public health and safety. The scope of work requires the health officer to maintain an office within the jurisdiction of the public health unit. The provider will monitor disease outbreaks locally, nationally, and globally, and conduct sanitary inspections where health-threatening conditions likely exist. Additional duties include investigating suspected contamination in public water and ice supplies, initiating condemnation proceedings when necessary, and enforcing school cleanliness through inspections of ventilation, crowding, and sanitation. Eligible bidders must perform all work onsite within the United States. The agency is requesting proposals to determine the budget for a contract period of one year. Bidders must submit all questions no later than June 24, 2026, and the agency will accept digital responses via email or online submission.
